City of Davis

The Housing Element is one of the seven mandatory elements in a community's General Plan. Its purpose is to identify existing and proposed housing needs and provide mechanisms to meet them. State law requires update of housing elements of local agencies every five years. The planning period for this update is January 1, 2006 through June 30, 2013. The City Council adopted the final version of this Housing Element on May 25, 2010 and the State Department of Housing and Community Development certified it on August 11, 2010.
