Community Day of Service

Saturday April 29

  • Date: April 29, 2017 (all day)

In conjunction with the City of Davis’ yearlong Centennial Celebration, the City and local community groups are hosting a one-day community day of service on Saturday, April 29, 2017. With a goal of bringing residents and community groups together to engage in meaningful service for our community, the City and local organizations are hosting volunteer projects for anyone wishing to participate.

Davis Community Day of Service has taken place for the past three years. The City of Davis, faith-based groups, service organizations, and other community groups have worked together to in hosting the event. Last year close to 200 volunteers participated. This year the variety of project and projects sites have expanded to include parks, schools, open space, the library and others.

To kick off the event, the City along with the Davis Community Day of Service Committee, will host a Kick-off Pancake Breakfast, sponsored by the Davis Police Officers Association for all volunteers.

Mayor Davis is especially excited about partnering with local agencies to contribute towards service to our community. “We encourage being a part of the common goal of creating community and making Davis a healthier, safer place to live and work.” This is a family friendly day. People of all ages are encouraged to attend. Children under 14 will need to be chaperoned by an adult.
