Davis Community Day of Service
- Date: May 19, 2018 (all day)
In a celebration of the Davis community, the City and local community groups are hosting a one-day community day of service on Saturday, May 19, 2018. With a goal of bringing residents and community groups together to engage in meaningful service for our community, the City and local organizations are hosting volunteer projects for anyone wishing to participate.
This year marks the fifth annual Day of Service. Last year close to 200 volunteers participated. In an effort to expand the scope of volunteer options and to get more people involved, the City is connecting with local organizations, who will be hosting different onsite project opportunities. This year there is a large variety to choose from and include both indoor and outdoor selections.
To kick off the event, the City, along with the Community Day of Service Committee will host a Kick-off Breakfast for all of the volunteers. Projects following the breakfast will last approximately three hours.
Mayor Davis is especially excited about partnering with local agencies to contribute towards service to our community. “We encourage being a part of the common goal of creating community and contributing to the vitality of Davis.” This is a family friendly day. People of all ages are encouraged to attend. Children under 14 will need to be chaperoned by an adult.
