The City of Davis Pursuing Energy Efficiency Ordinance
The City of Davis is pursuing an energy efficiency ordinance that will provide an intermediate step between the current energy code minimum and the Zero Net Energy (ZNE) code being proposed by the California Energy Commission for residential structures in 2020.
The City is proposing an ordinance that will offset approximately 80% of the electricity used in a new residential structure. The cost effectiveness study that will be used as a basis for this ordinance can be found at this link. Cost Effectiveness Study September 2016
A meeting to discuss the proposed ordinance will be held in the City of Davis Community Chambers on May 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
