Application Period Extended for Core Area Advisory Committee Applications
Help Update Core Area Plans, Policies, Codes, and Guidelines
On August 29, 2017, the Davis City Council directed staff to solicit applications for a Core Area Advisory Committee (CAAC).
The purpose of the CAAC is to be the primary advisory body to the City Council regarding an update of Core Area plans, policies, codes and guidelines. The CAAC will provide high level input, represent the entire Core Area community as well as individual interests, and understand the points of view of others. The City has hired a multi-disciplinary consultant team to lead the update process including community engagement.
The City Council has adopted a resolution forming the CAAC and adopting its purpose, scope, composition and ground rules. Please see the attached resolution. The CAAC is anticipated to meet 12 to 15 times over a period of approximately 2 years starting in December or January. Meetings are planned for Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
10 voting members of the CAAC will be appointed by City Council from the general public after applications are received. 9 additional members (5 voting members and 4 non-voting liaisons) are currently being appointed by City commissions and community organizations.
More information about the Core Area planning project is available in the resolution adopted by City Council on January 17, 2017 (PDF).
