Community Invited to a Participatory Design Workshop for the Downtown Davis Plan
Provide input on the plan to create a 2040 Vision for Downtown Davis
The City of Davis is hosting a Participatory Design Workshop for the Downtown Davis Plan at Davis Community Church located at 412 C Street from April 24 through April 28. 2018. This workshop will be a four-day opportunity for the Davis community to collaborate with the project team to create a future vision for Downtown Davis. The ideas and vision developed during the workshop along with other community input will guide the creation of the Downtown Davis Specific Plan document which will implement these ideas through policies and design standards.
“This is great opportunity for the community to participate in shaping the future of our Downtown, to see the Downtown Davis planning team in action, to learn about the process and to engage and offer their insight,” says Mike Webb, Davis City Manager.
The community is invited to drop in at their convenience during scheduled workshop events to observe, ask questions and provide their comment and input. Some of the topics that will be discussed include economics of downtown, historic preservation, transportation, parking, and form based codes.
If you have limited time to participate, make sure to attend the evening Opening Presentation on Tuesday, April 24th to share your ideas and learn about the process, and the afternoon Closing Presentation on Saturday, April 28th for a summary of the design ideas developed throughout the week.
