Citizen Police Academy

The Citizen Police Academy provides an opportunity for citizens to become familiar with the day-to-day operations of the Davis Police Department. This will enable participants to gain a better understanding of the procedures, guidelines, responsibilities, and demands that guide the Davis Police Department and its officers through their operations.

The spring 2011 academy runs from February 15, 2011-March 29, 2011, Tuesday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Who can attend?

Persons who live, work, or attend school in the City of Davis are eligible to apply and will be given first preference. However, anyone over the age of 16 may apply and may be accepted on a space available basis.

What are the requirements?

Persons who want to attend must be at least 16 years of age, have no prior felony convictions, and no outstanding warrants. Applicants under the age of 18 must have their parents sign a permission form prior to acceptance.

When and where is the citizen police academy held?

The Citizen Police Academy is held at the Davis Police Department. Academies will normally run 7 weeks. Classes will be held on Tuesday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The spring 2011 academy is February 15th-March 29th.
