Crime Prevention, Volunteers and Cadets
Meet Davis PD's Crime Prevention and Volunteer Coordinator
Hello. My name is Michele Reynolds and I am the Crime Prevention and Police Service Specialist for the Davis Police Department. I have been with the Davis Police Department since November 2005 and have been a resident of Davis for more than 30 years. Under the Community Policing Unit, I work closely with the community to address crime trends, teach crime prevention strategies and develop Neighborhood Watch programs throughout the residential areas of Davis. I also provide crime prevention support and strategies to management and tenants of apartment communities through our Crime Free Multi-Housing Program.
In addition to the services mentioned above, I also provide supervisory support and planning for our current Police Volunteer and Youth Cadet Program. Our volunteers (age 18 and over) provide a minimum of 4 hours of volunteer time per month assisting the department in clerical and office work, vacation house checks for the community, traffic control at major events and a variety of other duties as assigned. Our Youth Cadet program (age 14-18 years) meets twice per month and offers a curriculum for those interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement.
