2013 General Plan / Housing Element Update

Brief Description

In December 2006, the Davis City Council initiated a General Plan update. The update is to focus on the city’s next Regional Housing Needs Plan (RHNP) allocation to be received from the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG). The allocation is for the 7 ½ year period from January 2006 through June 2013.

On April 1, 2008, the City COuncil directed staff to submit the Draft Housing Element to the State Department of Housing and Community Development.

On April 22, 2008, a joint meeting of the City Council and Planning Commission was held to present the Steering Committee's report and recommendations.

On June 19, 2008, a special meeting of the Planning Commission was held to make recommendations to City Council on the Steering Committee Report.

The following meetings are scheduled to take actions on the Steering Committee recommendations:

  • July 22, 2008 5:00pm - City Council Workshop to Discuss the Steering Committee Report and Planning Commission/Staff Recommendations
  • September, 2008 (date to be determined) - City Council Meeting to Consider Adoption of a Resolution
