Community Emergency Response Team
CERT Program Description
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program was created to train people in the Davis community to help themselves, family and neighbors during an emergency as well as to establish a pool of volunteers that can assist with large scale emergencies.
The curriculum is a 7 week course, with a final exam and disaster simulation in the 8th week. The training includes disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, and team organization. The classes are free of charge. Participants must be 18 and over.
