Program Overview
The City of Davis has developed a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. The program was created to train people in the Davis community to help themselves, family and neighbors during an emergency as well as establish a pool of volunteers that can assist with large scale emergencies. To become a Davis CERT graduate you must complete the three Saturdays.
The training will include disaster preparedness, first Aid, CPR, establishing care shelters, sandbagging, traffic control, missing person searches and city operations, organization and communications during an emergency The classes will be taught by city fire, police and public works personnel, PG&E and Yolo County Red Cross staff. The session will be limited to 25 applicantsApplication
An application packet must be completed and submitted by April 15, 2009 and can be mailed or delivered to the Davis Fire Department business office at 530 Fifth Street. The packet consists of a City of Davis employment application, a Worker’s Compensation information packet, and a Pre-Designation of Personal Physician form.
