Notice of Election for the June 5, 2018 General Municipal Election and establishing deadlines for written arguments for or against the City measures.

City Council Election

City Council members are elected at-large for a four (4) year term. There will be two (2) City Council seats open for Election in 2018.

Qualifications for Candidacy:  Individuals must be a resident and registered voter of the City of Davis at the time nominations are issued. 

NOMINATION PERIOD – FEBRUARY 12, 2018 TO MARCH 9, 2018

During this time, Nomination Papers may be issued by the City Clerk to any eligible candidate during regular business hours.  Individuals are considered “official” candidates upon the submission and qualification of Nomination Papers.  

If an incumbent does not file Nomination Papers for his or her office by March 9, 2018, the nomination period will be extended by five days to March 14, 2018. During this time, any candidate (non-incumbents only) may receive/file Nomination Papers.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with the City Clerk to receive Nomination Papers. It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to issue these documents and review requirements.  Candidates without appointments will be helped on a first-come-first served basis after candidates with appointments. Appointments can be made by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 530/757-5648 or clerkweb@cityofdavis.org.
   

City of Davis Measure "H"

Shall Ordinance 2521, which renews the existing Park Maintenance Tax of $49 per year on residential units and on non-residential units in amounts specified in the Ordinance, for 20 years, adds an annual 2% inflator, and is expected to generate $1.4 million in the first year to fund maintenance of parks, street trees, greenbelts, bike paths, medians, public landscaping, urban wildlife and habitat, swimming pools, and public recreational facilities, be adopted?
    

City of Davis Measure "I"

Shall Ordinance 2522 be adopted to add Article 15.21 to the Davis Municipal Code to establish a Street and Bike Path Maintenance Tax of $99 per year on residential units and on non-residential units in amounts specified in the Ordinance, to fund maintenance of streets, bike lanes and paths, sidewalks, and related transportation infrastructure, which is estimated to raise $2.8 million, with a 2% annual inflator, for a period of 10 years?
  

City of Davis Measure "J"

Shall Resolution 18-023 amending the Davis General Plan to change the land use designation for the Nishi property from Agriculture to Medium High Density Residential and Natural Habitat Area, as set forth in the Resolution and establishing the Baseline Project Features for development of the Nishi Project be approved.
