2-1-1 Yolo

2-1-1 Yolo is a community information website for Yolo County residents. It provides a database of resources, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, schools and recreation and cultural programs. The database allows you to browse hundreds of health and human services online to find programs and resources that meet your needs. The site includes information on services for seniors and children, support groups, food closets, job assistance and more.

2-1-1 Yolo is supported by the Yolo County Department of Employment and Social Services, the Yolo County Library, the City of Davis, and a grant from Kaiser Permanente.

Shelter Available to Homeless Individuals and Families in Davis

Several community organizations provide seasonal or year-round shelter for homeless individuals and families in Davis.  For shelter in Davis, contact Davis Community Meals.

Davis Community Meals

Serves a free meal to needy individuals on Tuesday nights from 5:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Meals are served at St. Martin Episcopal Church. Program is aimed at aiding homeless and low-income individuals and families. Davis Community Meals also has a local shelter in town that temporarily houses men and women.

Serves:
All individuals and families who are homeless, with a maximum capacity of 50 persons. Shelter guests are required to be clean and sober.

Intake:
Intake for shelter space occurs onsite daily at 6:00 p.m. After 6:00 p.m., guests must be referred by a police, fire, or public service agency.

Meal:
Meal begins at 5:00 p.m. and lasts until 5:30 p.m.

Shelter Hours:
6.00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

Bus Routes from Davis:
YoloBus Stop for Line 242 at Court Street and 2nd Street in Woodland, bus line includes pick up and drop off at the Silo on UC Davis campus.

YoloBus Stop for Line 42 at E. Main Street and Matmor Road, bus line includes pick up and drop off at the Memorial Union on UC Davis campus. From this stop, walk west on Main (away from Highway 113) and turn right onto Fourth Street. 207 Fourth Street is on the right side of the street.

The Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter (IRWS) operates in Davis each year from November to March.  Information on the IRWS and shelters open in surrounding areas can be found on the Cold Weather Shelter information page.

Short Term Emergency Aid Committee

Able to provide immediate help to vulnerable families and individuals in need of temporary assistance with rent, utilities, furniture, clothing, food, and other basic necessities.

Empower Yolo - Services for Victims Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence

Provides crisis services (shelter), counseling services, educational services, and legal services to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. The Center also has a 24-hour crisis line that serves the community.

Salvation Army (local branches in Sacramento and Fairfield)

Adult rehabilitation services comprise the largest resident program offered by the Salvation Army. Individuals with identifiable and treatable needs go to these centers for help when they are no longer able to cope with their problems. There they receive adequate housing, nourishing meals, and necessary medical care, and they engage in work therapy. Services that are also provided include group therapy, spiritual guidance, and skilled counseling in clean and wholesome surroundings. Residents may be referred or be remanded by the courts.
