City Invites Comments on Draft “Guide to Infill Development”

Post Date: February 1, 2017

The City of Davis invites comments on a draft document “Guide to Infill Development – Principles and Expectations” Guide To infill Development Principles and Expectations.

The draft is an update and replacement of the “Interim Infill Development Guidelines” adopted by Resolution 01-156 in 2001 Res 01-156_Infill Guidelines_10.24.01 , pursuant to a City Council goal.

The objectives of the draft Guide is to provide a focus on key considerations in infill projects for prospective developers, staff, public, and the decision-makers of Planning Commission and City Council. The draft Guide provide “Principles” as a basis for decision making and are intentionally flexible to: recognize unique circumstances; address a wide range of types of projects; and to encourage uniqueness and diversity of design. In addition, the draft Guide provides “Expectations” to provide information about items that are relied upon as part of a development application or during its review.

Comments are requested by Friday, February 24, 2017 either via email to rwolcott@cityofdavis.org or by submitting a paper letter to the Community Development and Sustainability Department, 23 Russell Boulevard.

Upon receipt of your comments, we will make every effort to incorporate them in the document or at a minimum report them to the Planning Commission and City Council in their review of the document.
