Downtown Plan Advisory Committee:
As part of the collaborative process, the City Council has appointed a Downtown Plan Advisory Committee which is made up of 20 community members representing all aspects of the community: Bike advocate, historic preservation, small business owners, local private developers, affordable housing developers, architects, attorneys, and bankers.
The Downtown Plan Advisory Committee was established on November 7th and will meet for the first time on December 7th. In total, the group is anticipated to meet 12 times.

Opticos Design - Opticos is a team of urban designers, architects, and strategists that partners with clients who want to lead the way in providing vibrant, diverse, walkable urban places. The Opticos team will work closely with the Davis community and City staff to establish a unique and realistic 2040 vision for Downtown Davis and making that vision possible by removing the uncertainty in the process, policy and codes; and then amending or generating necessary policies, development standards and guidelines.
AIM Consulting - AIM Consulting, Inc. is a communications and public outreach consulting practice. Specializing in transportation, transit, water, waste-water, and land use projects, AIM provides public engagement, communication, strategic planning, public information and education, and community relations consulting services to both public and private clients.
BAE - BAE Urban Economics is a real estate and urban economics consulting firm. Headquartered in Berkeley and providing consulting services to public and private sector clients across the US, our Sacramento region office is located in Downtown Davis. Our role as part of the Downtown Davis Plan team is to assess downtown real estate demand, evaluate fiscal impacts of the proposed plan update, and assist with the implementation plan by identifying potential funding options for public improvements.
Fehr & Peers- Fehr & Peers specializes in providing innovative and results-oriented planning, design, and operations services related to all modes of transportation. As part of the DDP project team, we are helping to craft a future vision for the Downtown Davis transportation system.
Siegman & Associates - Siegman & Associates is leading the parking and transportation demand management components of the plan. Siegman & Associates is a San Francisco-based firm devoted to transportation planning for livable communities.
Lotus Water - Established in 2007, Lotus Water (Lotus) is a full service civil engineering consulting firm that specializes in delivering sustainable water management solutions, water-sensitive urban design systems, and capital infrastructure planning. On the Davis Core Area Specific Plan, Lotus staff will be evaluating the existing infrastructure systems for opportunities and constraints, and will be working iteratively with the team to identify the required infrastructure upgrades required to accommodate the various planning scenarios developed during the development of the Specific Plan. Additionally, Lotus staff will look for creative ways of integrating sustainable water management principles and practices into the resulting Form-Based Code.
Placeworks - PlaceWorks is a land use, design, and environmental consulting firm that provides cities and counties with services ranging from comprehensive planning to site planning, landscape architecture, urban design, mapping, GIS, and – as in the case of the Davis Core Area Specific Plan – CEQA documentation.
Preservation Architecture - As a preservation consultant, planner and architect, we provide independent historical and cultural resources consultation. As part of the overall Downtown Davis Plan process, our role is to undertake background/existing conditions analyses and documentation; Public meeting/charrette participation; Specific Plan development; and EIR consultation.
Farr Associates - Farr Associates is a community of practice operating at the sustainable intersection of architecture and urban design. Our planners and architects work in integrated design teams on projects that aspire to attain social, economic and environmental goals in collaboration with our clients and partners. Farr Associates is the Sustainability Consultant for the Davis Core Area Specific Plan team.
Urban 3 - Urban3 is a real estate economics firm based in Asheville, North Carolina. For the Davis Core Area Plan, Urban3’s will visualize Davis' fiscal health using local data. We think of it as our clients’ Economic MRI. The visuals not only reflect the relative fiscal potency of development patterns, but aid community stakeholders and decision makers in delivering a clear and data-driven understanding of the economics of place. Additionally, we will conduct a market analysis to determine the current and future dynamics of Davis' economy.
