In the Sacramento region, nearly 65% of residential water use goes to outdoor irrigation. Let's work to reduce that number. These tips can help.

Inspect, repair, repeat. Check outdoor irrigation systems every few months for leaks and clogged sprinkler heads. Make adjustments quickly to prevent water waste.
Prioritize your plants. Trees and shrubs, along with plants that have high replacement costs, should be your priority when it comes to watering.

Late nights or early mornings are best. If you choose to irrigate on the assigned days below, be sure your system is set to run in the early morning or late at night to prevent evaporation.
