The City of Davis celebrates special trees with the Landmark Tree Designation.
Landmark Trees help make Davis a unique place by providing environmental character and a connection to the City's past. The Landmark Tree List indentifies a wonderful heritage to be shared by the community. Davis residents are encouraged to look for and submit for Landmark Tree designation trees worthy of this special status.
Trees that may qualify for Landmark Tree designation need to have one or more of the following qualities
- The tree is an outstanding specimen of a tree species
- The tree is on of the largest or oldest trees in Davis
- The tree is of historical interest
- The tree is an unusual species, a significant grove, or otherwise unique
