City Emergency Notification Tools
Nixle.com
The City of Davis is now using a citizen self-registering email and text messaging notification tool from Nixle.com. This tool will allow the City to send important City announcements to your email and/or phone. One of the unique features of this new tool is subscribers can specify multiple locations, such as a home address, a business address and a child’s school address. The city can then tailor messages to certain areas of town, if necessary. More information is attached in the Nixle.com Press Release 1/21/2010.
This free, secure tool will be used to notify participants on major City events and be used in conjunction with the City's existing notification tools:
- City Main Webpage Notification or www.cityofdavis.org
- 1300 AM Radio Notification
- Davis Government Channel 16
- Phone Call-out System (to home and business landlines)
- City News & Web Page Updates email List
