The City of Davis is looking for volunteers to serve as members of the following commissions:
- Finance and Budget (2 regular vacancies)
- Historical Resources Management (1 alternate vacancy)
- Safety and Parking Advisory (2 regular vacancies & 1 alternate vacancy)
- Senior Citizens (1 regular vacancy)
- Telecommunications (1 alternate vacancy)
By serving on a city commission, you can participate in local government and help plan the future of Davis. Commissions serve as a conduit for citizen input – a way of gathering, analyzing and recommending options to the City Council. Commissions provide an important avenue for determining the community’s feelings about an issue and extending the reach of the democratic process. Individuals who serve on the city’s commissions are among the most respected and appreciated volunteers in the community. A great deal of personal satisfaction, knowledge and experience may be gained through service to your community.
If you are interested in serving on a commission and are a resident of Davis, please fill out an application. Applications may be picked up at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 23 Russell Boulevard, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., downloaded at www.cityofdavis.org/cmo/commapp.cfm, or call 757-5648 and an application will be mailed to you. Feel free to include a resume or other information to help the City Council in the selection process. Submitted applications are considered public information. Applications will be submitted to City Council for appointment at a regular Council meeting; appointments are tentatively scheduled for April 14, 2008.
Application deadline: April 6, 2009
Application deadlines are established to allow City Council time to review the applications thoroughly. No late applications will be submitted to City Council.
