Sale of city surplus property at 921 Sycamore Lane
On June 29, 2010 the Davis City Council declared the property at 921 Sycamore Lane surplus and authorized staff to dispose of the property. Consistent with Government Code section 54222(a) and City of Davis Administrative procedure 12.4a the property is being offered to affordable housing sponsors and all other interested parties. The basic information concerning the property is as follows:
- 921 Sycamore Lane
- Assessors Parcel Number: 034-215-012
- Lot size: approximately 6,300 square feet.
- Lot shape: rectangular approximately 105 feet deep by 60 feet wide
- Zoned: Residential Single Family – R-1-6
- General Plan designation: Residential Low Density
- Former use: City well site. The well has been destroyed and site is ready to develop.
- Water and Sewer: services exist in the street and would need to be connected as part of permit process.
- Appraised value: $190,000 – a copy of the appraisal is available upon request.
As currently designated in the General Plan and Zoning the parcel can only be used for a single family home.
The city of Davis will entertain offers on the property at the appraised value or above. The City staff will review all offers and present them to the City Council. The City Council will authorize staff to initiate negotiations with one party.
If you wish to submit an offer on this property submit the following by no later than September 9, 2010 3:00PM:
- A letter clearly stating the amount offered for the property.
- A description of your intended use of the property.
- A description of how you intend to maintain the property until you are able to develop it.
- Your funding source for purchase of the property.
- Your contact information.
The offers must be delivered to the City Clerk at 23 Russell Blvd. in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside “Sealed Offer for 921 Sycamore Lane”.
The City Council retains the right to reject all offers and make other arrangements for the disposition of this property, including but not limited to deciding to retain the property for use or sale at a later date.
