Pool Rules
General Rules for All Pools
- Ages 6 and Under: Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult (over age 14) on the premises at all times. A maximum of 3 children, age 6 and under, may be accompanied by one adult.
- Only bathing suits are allowed to be worn in the pools.
- Any swimmer who is not toilet-trained must wear a snug fitting swim diaper while swimming in addition to the swim suit.
- No running on the pool deck.
- No alcohol, smoking/tobacco, gum, glass bottles are permitted in the pool complex.
- Masks, fins, snorkels, or floats are not allowed. Goggles are permitted.
- Children cannot be thrown into the pool or up into the air while in the pool.
- Belly flops, cannon balls, can-openers or back dives are not allowed from the side of the pool.
- Only swim aids that are coast guard approved are allowed.
- Children must pass a swim test prior to using the lap pool.
- A swim test may be required of any patron.
- Kickboards are for lap swimming only.
Diving Rules for All Pools
- Only one guest is allowed on the diving board at a time.
- Swimmers must be at least 42 inches tall to use the high dive.
- Swimmers must be able to swim 2 widths of the pool.
- Only one bounce on the board.
- Guests must wait on board until the previous diver has reached to the side of the pool.
- Guests who change their mind about diving when already on the board must be helped down by a city employee.
- Dive straight off the board.
- No inward or reverse dives from diving boards
- Do not move the fulcrum.
Water Slide Rules for All Pools
- Riders must enter the slide in a sitting position and wait for instructions from the lifeguard stationed at the slide starter tub.
- All riders must be 48” tall.
- Maximum rider weight is 300 pounds.
- Riders must lie on their backs at all times. Do not sit up while riding the slide.
- Do not pull or propel yourself into the ride.
- No combs or foreign objects are allowed in pockets and no jewelry can be worn while riding the slide. No cut off jeans or swim wear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation; only approved swim suits allowed.
- All riders must ride feet first while lying on their back with arms crossed across their chest. Do not go down the slide head first.
- No running, standing, kneeling, rotating, tumbling or stopping in the flume. Arms and hands must remain inside the flume at all times. Riders should remain in proper riding position until forward movement is terminated. At no time should the rider attempt to stand up while on the slide or prior to coming to a complete stop in the splash out area.
- Only one rider at any time. Absolutely no trains or chains of riders are permitted.
- No tubes, mats, or life jackets are permitted on the waterslide.
- The line should form on the deck with one rider on each landing and one rider in the starter tub. Wait until landing area is clear before entering.
- Riders must be in good health. Elderly persons, those suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, or persons using prescription medication should consult their physician before using this slide. Individuals with medical conditions including, but not limited to, pregnancy, heart, or back problems should not ride.
- Do not use this slide while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- No diving from slide.
- Leave the plunge pool promptly after entering.
- Non-swimmers are not permitted.
- Warning: Water depth is 3 feet 6 inches.
- Rider assumes all risk of injury due to misuse of this slide or failure to follow those rules

Arroyo and Manor Pools
Recreational Pool
- No diving or cannon balls off the side of the pool.
- No hanging on lane line.
- No rough-housing
Lap Pool
- No hanging on the lane lines
- Lane lines are for guests 15 years or older.
- Kickboards are for lap swimming only.
- No flips, back dives, inwards, cannon balls, or jack knifes from the pool side
- No lifejackets allowed
- No t-shirts allowed.
Community Pool
Baby Pool - No Guard on Duty at this pool
- A bathing suit and swim diaper must be worn by non-potty trained swimmers.
- An adult must accompany every child.
- Toys are permitted at the guard’s discretion.
- No children over the age of 7 are allowed in the baby pool.
Instructional Pool
- No diving or cannon balls off the side of the pool
- No hanging on lane line.
- No rough-housing
Lap Pool
- No hanging on the lane lines
- No flips, back dives, inwards, cannon balls, or jack knifes from the pool side.
- No lifejackets allowed.
- No t-shirts allowed.
