Lifeguard Training Courses
Learn the skills you need to prevent and respond to emergencies in and around the water. This course includes Lifeguard Training/First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards and First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22). Participants must attend all class sessions and pass the skills/written tests in order to receive certifications.
Prerequisites:
Minimum age of 15 and must be able to pass a skills test in swimming (300 yards) on the first class meeting.

Course Fee: $190* (non-residents: add $13)
*an additional $30.00 materials fee is due on the first day of class

Lifeguarding Review Course
This course includes the review course for CPR/AED for Lifeguards (formerly called “CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer”)
The purpose of the Lifeguarding Review Course is to give individuals the opportunity to review the Lifeguard Training course content within a formal class setting. Each participant will have the opportunity to view video segments, practice and perform skills and scenarios for evaluation, and complete the final written exam (a minimum of 80% is required to pass the written portion).
Upon successful completion of course requirements, participants will receive the following certifications:
- Lifeguard Training & First Aid (valid for 3 years)
- CPR/AED for Lifeguards (valid for 1 year)
Prerequisites:
Minimum age of 15 years old.
Must swim 300 yards using the front crawl and breaststroke.
Must swim 20 yards and retrieve a brick from 7-10 ft. in the water (timed).
Current Lifeguard Training/First Aid and CPR/AED for Lifeguards certifications or one that has not been expired more than 12 months. Individuals that do not possess these certificates may not participate in the review course. Participants will need to bring their original certification cards to the first day of class.

CPR/AED Review for Lifeguards

Lifeguarding Instructor Course
The purpose of this course is to train instructor candidates to teach basic-level Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for Lifeguards, Bloodborne Pathogens and Basic Water Rescue courses. This course prepares instructor candidates to use course and presentation materials, conduct training sessios, and evaluate the progress of candidates in a professional-level course. Upon successful completion of this course, candidates will be certified to teach American Red Cross Lifeguard Training classes. Participants must attend all scheduled sessions and pass all skills/written tests in order to receive certification.
Pre-requisites:
Minimum age of 17.
Possess a current Lifeguard Training certificate.
Possess a Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) certificate.
Successfully complete the pre-course session (written exam and pre-course skills and scenarios).

Water Safety Instructor Training (WSI)
Successful completion of this course will certify you to teach all levels of the American Red Cross learn-to-swim program. Included in this course is Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT). You must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to obtain certification.
Prerequisites:
Minimum age of 16 and successfully complete pretest consisting of water safety and swimming skills.
