Resources for Child Care Professionals:
Child Care Centers

Child Care Services Resource & Referral offers a variety of resources and services to new providers as they enter the field of early care & education and begin their child care business. We also provide ongoing assistance and support to existing child care professionals to enhance the quality of care for children of Yolo County. Our services and resources are designed to assist all child care professionals in achieving quality programs.

Become a licensed Center

To begin the licensing process you must attend a center orientation. Center orientations are held at the Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing, 2525 Natomas Park Drive, Suite 250, Sacramento, CA 95834. They will provide information that includes Title 22 regulations and an application packet to fill out to apply for your license. In addition, they will answer any questions that you may have. You will need to call in advance to attend the orientation. The phone number is (916) 263-5744.

Quality Enhancement Project

Quality child care, added to a quality home environment, leads to the best possible physical, intellectual, and social-emotional development in the child. Parents who know that their child is receiving quality child care can be assured that their child is safe, nurtured, and challenged to learn. The Quality Enhancement Project (QEP) is available to all licensed child care centers. The QEP provides onsite training, early childhood environment rating scale observations, child and classroom observations, resources, support and assistance on a variety of topics. For more information call our office and ask for the Child Care Specialist. This program is FREE and funded through First 5 YOLO.
