The City of Davis Community Services Department offers a wide variety of classes for adults 18 and over, including dog training, cooking (to begin in summer 2012), fitness classes, dance, CPR & First Aid, Dog First Aid, songwriting, lifestyle (e.g. weight loss and de-stress), and much, much more!

Come have a “bite” of all our exercise classes!  You might just find that you want to sign-up for the whole entrée!

The City of Davis’ Recreation Division is offering a “Fitness Appetizer Night” in February to give community members the opportunity to sample our various fitness classes. This class features a little bit of everything, including stretching, cardio, weights, and yoga. Come join us for some fun!

The following instructors are eager to introduce you to their classes & teaching styles, while giving you a terrific workout:

  • Ann Smalley – Instructor for
    “Sunrise Step, Tone & Stretch” & “PM Aerobics”
  • Julia Kable –
    Instructor for “AM Aerobics” & “AM Yoga”
  • Ali Loge – Instructor for “Body Blast”
  • Annie Laurie – Instructor for “Yoga Meditation”
Aerobics Class

The class format will mimic the structure of a typical fitness class:
5:30-5:45 p.m.: WARM-UP with Ann Smalley
5:45-6:00 p.m.: CARDIO with Julia Kable
6:00-6:15 p.m.: WEIGHTS with Ali Loge
6:15-6:30 p.m.: COOL DOWN with Annie Laurie

This is your chance to get a glimpse of what each class is all about! The instructors will also be available to answer questions throughout the class.

FITNESS FLEX PASS participants are welcome to attend!

Fitness Flex Pass

Increase your FLEXibility!

Increase your FLEXibility! The Fitness Flex Pass gives you a drop-in option for some of the fitness classes the City of Davis has to offer. Pick and choose which classes and dates work best with your schedule, try a new class, or continue with your favorite!

The FITNESS FLEX PASS is a great option when you expect a varied availability due to vacation, holidays, or other obligations. The FLEX PASS is available for purchase at the Community Services Department, 600 A Street, Suite C.

  • Each Fitness Flex Pass entitles you to 10 classes for $63 or 20 classes for $125 (non-resident fees apply).
  • You must bring your Fitness Flex Pass with you to class.
  • The Fitness Flex Pass expires at the end of each fiscal year (June 30).
  • Advance registration is not required for the Fitness Flex Pass, but please arrive at least 5 minutes early to have your card punched by staff.

The FITNESS FLEX PASS can be used at the following adult exercise classes:

  • Body Blast
  • AM Aerobics
  • PM Aerobics
  • Sunrise Step, Tone, and Stretch
  • AM Yoga
  • Yoga Meditation

Prices subject to change annually. Classes are subject to change and/or cancellation based on attendance and instructor availability. The "Satisfaction Guaranteed" policy does not apply to the Fitness Flex Pass.

Aerobics Class

Registration is accepted either in-person at the Community Services Office, 600 A Street, Suite C, by phone at (530) 757-5626, or online at http://cityofdavis.org/cs/webreg/. Instructors Wanted!

The City of Davis Community Services Department is always looking for energetic and qualified instructors to teach a variety of Adult Special Interest Classes. Class hours are flexible and it is a great way to earn extra money while sharing your hobbies and interests with others in the community. Classes are for adults 18 and over.

A special interest class instructor is expected to provide high quality instruction for the participants in the class or workshop. Specific responsibilities include: providing the information for publicity releases, developing and submitting a lesson plan, keeping track of class enrollment and class rosters, notifying the appropriate supervisor if any changes occur in the class schedule content or the instructor’s ability to conduct the class, and  performing assigned duties independently with minimal supervision.
