Community Services Supervisor - Maria Lucchesi Maria Lucchesi

Maria Lucchesi joined the City of Davis in November 2008 as the new Community Services Supervisor for the Davis Senior Center, and is responsible for the management of Senior Services Division. Her position is responsible for assisting Community Services management staff, as well as planning and developing ongoing human services programs. Some of her responsibilities include supporting the Senior Citizens Commission, administration of the Information & Assistance grant, assisting with the monitoring & coordination of facility scheduling & maintenance, developing and coordinating community partnerships, and of course, supervising a variety of programs and services for older adults including health & wellness, education & technology, special events, and social services.

Maria comes to Davis from the City of Woodland Community & Senior Center, where she served as their Community Resource Specialist for the past eight years.  Her responsibilities included providing information and assistance services to older adults, as well as, planning and implementing a variety of recreation programs.  Maria has a B.A. in Social Work from Sacramento State University, and later earned a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Maria currently lives in Woodland, where she enjoys bicycling, hiking (loves Stebbins Cold Canyon) and traveling to Europe -- especially Italy, where most of her relatives live.

Information & Assistance Program Coordinator - Lisa DeAmicis Lisa DeAmicis

Whether you need help finding information on housing, in-home care, legal issues or anything else affecting older adults, our Information and Assistance Coordinator, Lisa DeAmicis, can put you in touch with just the programs and services you're looking for.

Lisa graduated from UCD and worked in state government and journalism before returning to Davis and launching her career at the Davis Senior Center in 1992. Her prior experience prepared her well for working with people, gathering information, accessing community programs and advocating for those in need. Lisa is a Certified Information and Referral Specialist. She listens carefully and uses her expertise to help seniors and their loved ones find solutions to their problems. In addition, Lisa coordinates a number of services at the senior center, including the Handy Helpers minor home repair program, Are You OK? telephone reassurance, support groups, legal consultations, volunteer training and computer tutoring.

Lisa lives with her husband Tom in Davis. Their son attends UC Santa Cruz. She enjoys reading, step aerobics, boogey boarding and supporting the Sacramento Kings. Go Kings!

Community Services Program Coordinator – Alisa Fisher Alisa Fisher

Alisa Fisher joined the Senior Center staff in December 2008 as the new Community Services Program Coordinator, and will be responsible for volunteer and instructor management, as well as developing and coordinating a variety of programs and services for older adults including health & wellness, education & technology, recreation activities, special interest classes, and themed special events.

Originally from the Bay Area, Alisa attended CSU, Chico and achieved her B.S. in Recreation Administration.  Upon completion of her studies, she moved to Sacramento with her husband Greg and cat, Meemo.  Alisa worked for the Rio Linda Parks Department as well as the County of Sacramento Regional Parks Department where she gained valuable experience creating programs for older adults, coordinating special events, and facility management.  Alisa and her husband currently reside in the Natomas Area, where she enjoys spending time with family and friends, yoga, dancing and hiking.

Senior Office Assistant - Jan Butler

Jan has worked for the City of Davis for nearly 25 years in a variety of capacities including Child Care Services, Community Services registration counter, Mediation, Grants, and the Davis Senior Center. The past several years, Jan divided her time between the downtown Hunt Boyer Building during the morning hours, and the afternoon hours with us here at the Davis Senior Center. In July 2005, Jan moved to the Senior Center full time, and has enjoyed working in the same office for the full work day.

Her position is the "hub" of our center’s operations. She is the person who assists in the coordination of facility scheduling, class registration, responding to telephone inquiries and special service appointments, maintaining participant attendance & membership records, providing clerical support to staff and support groups, as well as a host of other responsibilities. One of the most significant responsibilities for Jan is the production and mailing of the Senior Scene newsletter which is distributed to over 1,200 households.

Jan has lived in Davis for over 30 years, and is looking forward to many more. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, bicycling, water exercise, walking, gardening and taking vacations.
