All Support Groups meet at the Davis Senior Center,
646 A Street (corner of A & 7th Streets).
Alzheimer's Support Group
third Wednesday of the month, 10:00 a.m.
Open to caregivers of anyone suffering from dementia. The group meets to discuss immediate concerns and coping strategies; educate family members of newly diagnosed persons; provide emotional support for the caregiver; and provide a networking opportunity for local resources on Alzheimer's.
Breathers Support Group
fourth Thursday of the month, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
If you have asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, or, are a chronic sufferer of colds, allergies and sinus problems, you are most welcome to attend monthly meetings. Besides the sharing of useful information, members can benefit from the frequent guest speakers who address topics of concern to those dealing with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). This support group gives people with hearing loss an opportunity to speak their piece and be heard with sympathy. The group hosts guest speakers about hearing aids and other assistive devices. The group meets four times a year at the Davis Senior Center and four times a year at the Woodland Community and Senior Center. Call (530) 757-5696 for meeting dates and times.
Parkinson's Support Group
third Thursday of the month, 1:30 p.m.
This peer led group welcomes caregivers as well as those with Parkinsons Disease. This group sometimes has guest speakers, but mainly shares experiences and tips for families and caregivers.
Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group
second Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m.
The group’s porpose is to share information and to encourage others with neuropathy. Some meetings feature speakers.
Transitions Group
fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m.
Whether you’re dealing with health problems, feeling blue, loss of a loved one, or just the trials of aging, this group is a place to find insight and support.
