Teen Program Trips
Now, we love hanging out in Davis, but every now and then we get the itch to get out of town and do something REALLY FUN! We'd love to take you along!
For more information or to register for trips, contact the Community Services office at (530) 757-5626 or stop by City Hall, 23 Russell Blvd. (corner of Russell Blvd. & B St.)
So-Cal Safari, grades 10 through 12
Interested in college but don't know where you want to go? This Spring Break, the Teen Program staff will cruise down to Southern California to check out 6-7 schools and get a feel for So-Cal! We'll visit state, UC system, and private schools. Students will go on tours of each campus, sample the food, and stay in hotels.
There will be an informational meeting for the SoCal Safari trip on Thursday February 25, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Redwood Room (1001 Anderson Road, just south of Cesar Chavez Elementary School).
The SoCal Safari is designed for high school students; 12 participants will travel with two experienced recently college-graduated staff in City of Davis mini vans to Southern California. We will visit college campuses, take tours, experience the local atmosphere, sample the food, and stay in hotels. Our tentative destinations are UC Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Cal Poly San Luis Obisbo, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, and UC Santa Cruz. This is a great way for teens to see many different campuses in a safe way. Students can ask questions of our staff, who can offer insight into the college application process and what to look for in a school.
