On behalf of the City Council and the Davis community, I am pleased to welcome you to the City of Davis. Home to a world-class research university, Davis has unparalleled access and proximity to top researchers and students. This coupled with an energetic population, excellent schools, a vibrant downtown and a central location between Sacramento and the Bay Area are just a few of the many reasons businesses come to Davis.

The Davis City Council is committed to promoting economic development in Davis. This commitment is reflected in our economic development vision to satisfy the economic development needs of the community. Specific goals are to provide retail opportunities to meet the needs of our citizens, promote high tech and biotech development, create diverse job opportunities, and to assist in the fiscal stability of the city.
