Retail Sales Report
This Retail Sales Report was prepared for the City of Davis by Bay Area Economics as an update to a similar study that they prepared in 2000. The report presents Davis retail sales figures across various categories for 2003 and compares them with those of 2000. The study also compares expected retail sales to actual retail sales to identify areas of retail sales "leakage" and areas of retail sales "injection". This report will be utilized by Economic Development staff, the Business and Economic Development Commission, and the City Council to recognize and support Davis' retail strengths and to help identify opportunities to bolster Davis' retail position.
