City of Davis

The Yolano Chapter of Californians for Disability Rights has donated chargers and batteries to the City of Davis. These batteries will be loaned to residents who need power for their life support ventilators during short-term emergencies. The Davis Fire Department is storing five batteries purchased by the Chapter. If there is an emergency, such as a power outage, residents in immediate need of a battery should call 9-1-1 for assistance. For batteries expected to run out of power in 4-6 hours please call (530) 747-5400 and press 5 to speak with a fire dispatcher to arrange the loan of a battery.

In order to obtain a battery, a waiver will need to be completed and on file at the Davis Fire Department at 530 Fifth Street, Davis, CA 95616. Download the form, complete it (keep a copy) and return it to the Fire Department Business Office at 530 Fifth Street. For questions about the waiver call the Fire Department at 757-5684 between 8 and 10 a.m. and 3 and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday or e-mail fireweb@cityofdavis.org.
