Parents, teachers, child care professionals and students who are interested in child development are encouraged to participate in this day long event. The conference is held at the Veterans' Memorial Center in Davis (203 E. 14th Street, Davis, CA). The conference offers many exciting and fun workshops as well as a variety of onsite exhibitors. Please join us at the 2009 Yolo County Child Development Conference on Saturday March 14, 2009. Our keynote presenter is Lisa Murphy, the "Ooey Gooey Lady ®". Lisa presents over 150 workshops each year to audiences across the country on various topics related to early childhood education, specifically how to be more play-based in the classroom. She has been featured in various publications including Child Care Business Exchange, Parents and Pre-K Today. Lisa has authored four books and has created dozens of teacher training DVDs.

Lisa has become nationally known for their information, humor, inspiration and energetic delivery. She practices what she preaches and continues to blend the laughter with the learning! Lisa's current project is assisting educators with linking all aspects of a hands-on, play-based, Ooey Gooey® philosophy to state mandated educational standards. She is dedicated to proving that playing is, in fact, "getting them ready" for school!

2009 Keynote: What if Today Was Their Only Day?

In this motivational keynote address Lisa shares the powerful story of her first day of school and how, and why, that one day solidified her decision to become an educator. This inspiring keynote gets participants excited and motivated and gets them thinking ... If it was their only day, what will they remember?
