What's New at The Dog Park?
Walking Path
At the Dog Park we recently created a walking path around the perimeter. The path is made of gravel and is approx 1400 feet in length. It follows the fence on the inside and provides a place for people to walk around the perimeter and keep out of the mud when the turf area is wet and also allows those who can't easily walk in the turf an easier place to walk.
Small Dog Area
We also had new fencing installed to separate the small dogs from the large dogs. This small dog area is in the southeast corner of the park.
The Toad Hollow Dog Park may be temporarily closed at times during the winter months due to inclement weather conditions. The park site is located within the Core Area Drainage Pond, a drainage basin that provides storage of stormwater runoff from the entire downtown area. During and following heavy rain periods, when the pond holds stormwater runoff, it is necessary to close the Dog Park. During these closures, signs will be posted at the site to inform park users. The park will open once the field has dried and is again suitable for use. You can call (530) 757-5656 to check the status of the Dog Park.
