Spiders: Prevention: Spiders are beneficial arachnids that feed on insects. Most are harmless to humans and should be tolerated around the home and garden. If they are in the home: vacuum them up along with their webs, take them outside by capturing them with a container and slipping a sheet of paper under the container and releasing them outside, keep spiders out by caulking cracks and crevices, reduce their food supply by installing screens, replacing porch lights with yellow bulbs and ripen fruit in sealed paper bags.
