RESIDENTS ASKED TO ASSESS GREENBELT PRIORITIES

Contact:

Residents of Davis are invited to take the on-line Survey at http://cityofdavis.org/pgs/masterplan/greenbeltsurvey.cfm

The City of Davis is in the process of updating its Parks and Facilities Master Plan. Research regarding recreational facilities in Davis found that a majority of residents think greenbelts are very important and that greenbelt expansion is also very important. The community’s response has led to a more extensive study focusing on greenbelts in Davis.

The first part of the greenbelt research was a community workshop held on Thursday February, 12th. The next part of the research is the distribution of a greenbelt survey. The City is asking interested residents to complete the new greenbelt survey. Staff needs your help planning the future of Davis greenbelts.

Greenbelts act as an amenity that serves a diverse set of users, such as, walkers, roller skaters, runners, nature viewers, bicyclists and many others who want to enjoy the outdoors. Greenbelts also act as transportation infrastructure, open space, stormwater drainage areas, and recreational facilities. As the residents of Davis needs change, Davis’s greenbelt system must adapt. Please help in the greenbelt planning process.
