Community Forest Management Plan

The City of Davis is very fortunate to have an extensive community forest. Perpetuation of this forest requires careful management with ongoing planting, preservation and protection of our trees.

In response to the Davis General Plan, May 2001, Urban Design Goal 2, "Maintain an aesthetically pleasing environment and manage a sustainable community forest to optimize environmental, aesthetic, social and economic benefits," Action 2.2(o), "Develop a Community Forest Management Plan for the City of Davis," (pages 157-159), the City of Davis Tree Commission, in coordination with the Parks & General Services Department staff, has prepared the Community Forest Management Plan. The City Council reviewed and adopted the plan on September 11, 2002.

You can download a copy of the plan below, or you can purchase a print copy at the Community Services office in City Hall at 23 Russell blvd. Print copies cost $10.

If you have further questions about the Community Forest Management Plan, please call the Parks & General Services Department at (530) 757-5656.
