Neighborhood Emergency Training (NET)
In an effort to better prepare our community for potential disasters, the Davis Police Department conducts Neighborhood Emergency Training (NET) classes on a continual basis. The NET presentations are generally two hours long and provide
valuable information on topics such as:
- Creating a disaster plan
- Assembling home and portable disaster supply kits
- Sheltering in place
- Evacuation procedures
- Specific needs in your neighborhood
- Preparing for a specific disaster
Being prepared reduces the fear and anxiety often associated with traumatic events, lessens the impact of disasters, helps people and their neighbors survive, and plays a major role in allowing police, fire, and medical personnel to focus on those who really need attention. Most importantly, it also reduces the need to seek out food, water, and other essential supplies when thousands of other people are trying to do the same thing.
The Davis Police Department NET instructors are trained by personnel from the Sacramento Regional Citizens Corps Council and the Sacramento Regional Office of Homeland Security.
Be ready! Let us show you how. Please send an email to policeweb@cityofdavis.org and include the information below. Someone will contact you with information on the next NET class available.
