Meet Davis PD's Youth Intervention Specialist

PSS Petersen

Hello...Welcome to Davis Police Department’s Youth Services Division.  My name is Trease Petersen and I am the Youth Intervention Specialist for the Davis Police Department.  I manage the juvenile diversion program, which is the official halting of formal juvenile justice proceedings against a first time juvenile offender.  This process screens out children from juvenile court without judicial determination and encourages voluntary participation in community service and various other programs relative to the needs of the juvenile and family. In addition to managing the diversion program, I also manage the city truancy program working collectively with Davis Joint Unified School District to ensure our youth are successful by attending school.  I also teach the Parent Project, parenting classes for strong willed or out of control teens, enhancing parental control and skill building.

The Youth Services Division of the Davis Police Department is dedicated to serving the youth and their families of our community.  Youth Services works closely with DJUSD, Yolo County Mental Health, Law Enforcement, Yolo County Probation and various other support services.  We welcome the opportunity to provide service and/or referrals to your family.

Youth Services exists to help youth succeed at home, school and at work. The strengthening of the family unit is the key to youth success!

Feel free to contact me Monday through Friday; 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. at 530-747-5432 or by email at tpetersen@davispd.org.
