Patrol Division

The members of the Patrol Division are committed to developing partnerships with community members in order to identify issues that effect the quality of life of the Davis citizens and together, develop long term solutions to these problems.

Officer Phan Cop Card The Patrol Division is the largest section within the police department. This division is comprised of four units which include forty police officers, six full-time civilian employees and seven part-time civilian employees. The primary responsibilities of the patrol division are to respond to and resolve violent and non-violent crimes in progress and traffic collisions. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, crime reporting and investigations, traffic enforcement, various state statute and city code enforcement, crime prevention, and community relations.

The units within the patrol division are the Patrol Unit, Traffic Unit, and Police Canine Unit. Collateral responsibilities also assigned to this division include field training of new police officers, advanced training designed for experienced officers, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and the Explosive Ordnance Device (EOD) teams.
