| Description: | CLICK ON "ATTACHMENTS" FOR PAVING SCHEDULE AND STREET LIST. Place a 1.5" asphalt overlay on various streets within the City of Davis. This year we will be concentrating on West Davis arterial and collector streets. By locating the project streets in the same area the contractor can be more efficient and we can stretch our dollars. This year the budget is primarily grant money that can only be spent on arterial streets. | |
| Additional Info: | The project also includes several curb ramps that will be upgraded to current ADA standards. This is a requirement of receiving the grant funds. The curb ramp work consists of approximately $100,000 of the budget. | |

Project Objectives
- The condition of the entire City of Davis street system is tracked with the use of a computerized Pavement Management System. This program has a huge database, which logs all City streets and their condition. Field inspections are conducted every year on about 1/3 of the City streets to update the streets’ condition data. Using the inspection information, the streets’ condition (called the PCI, or Pavement Condition Index), is calculated by the computer program. The PCI is based on a scale of 1 to 100 (100 being a brand new street or one that has just been overlaid.) The City's objective is to maintain the average PCI of city streets at 70 or above. The current average PCI of the City streets is 71
