In an effort to protect public health from the adverse effects of woodsmoke, the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District begins their voluntary “Don’t Light Tonight” (http://www.ysaqmd.org/burn-DLT.php) program on November 1st. The City of Davis has adopted a voluntary “no burn” days program for the curtailment of all wood burning devices. Voluntary “no burn” days are established when particulate matter (PM 2.5) is forecasted to be 25 micrograms per cubic meter or higher as determined by the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District.
To obtain today’s burn status and for more information on the Air District’s Don’t Light Tonight Program, visit http://www.ysaqmd.org/burn-DLT.php
