Earwigs, Cockroaches, Fleas

These pests can be found any time of the year in Davis. New technologies for flea control are proven alternatives to conventional pet shampooing, home and landscape spraying.

Prevention/Management

• Remove debris, clean up hiding places.

Controls

• More toxic: poison baits (cockroaches, earwigs), chlorpyrifos (fleas).
• Less toxic:

- crush and remove

- boric acid, sticky baits (cockroaches)

- dark traps, vegetable oil traps, caulk (earwigs)

- insect growth regulators taken as a pill by your pet (fleas)

- insecticidal soaps or sprays with pyrethrins (fleas)
