Batteries, alkaline - Recycling & Reuse Options
General Recycling Information:
DO NOT THROW AWAY IN THE TRASH.
Recycle alkaline batteries for free at several drop-off sites in Davis.
As of February 2006, it is illegal to throw away household batteries in the trash. Household batteries contain metals that are potentially toxic, including mercury, cadmium, zinc, lithium, and nickel. These metals can contaminate groundwater if they are buried in a landfill. Please recycle all household batteries at the free battery drop-off sites. Please do not place batteries in the trash!
