Young Tree Maintenance Volunteer Intern

This urban forest volunteer intern will be maintaining young trees in parks, greenbelts and streetscapes throughout the City. Duties will include planting trees, tree well weeding and mulching for the park and street trees; watering young trees; structure pruning of young trees under 15’ tall (training required); staking, stake replacement, or un-staking of city trees.
This intern will receive training in urban forestry and public outreach as well.
Work independently for a minimum of 4 hours or up to 35 hours per week with the guidance of the Urban Forest Team. Hours are flexible primarily, Monday - Friday between 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Qualifications: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, use pruning tools, have valid California Class C driver’s license.
College Credit: Check with your program to see if you can receive credit for this internship.
