Available Funding

The program year will run from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

The City of Davis received $672,373 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds last year. The City expects to receive slightly less than that amount this coming year. The City will not know the exact amount of the allocation until sometime during the process. A maximum of twenty percent (20%) may be reserved for City Fair Housing activities, CDBG program administration, and other special City planning projects. In addition, the City Council may consider requests for discretionary grants from groups that do not qualify for CDBG funds. There is no budget line item for non-CDBG eligible projects and no guarantee that funds will be available.

The City of Davis is anticipating an allocation of approximately $300,000 in Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds for the program year. Of that amount, ten percent (10%) may be reserved for City Fair Housing activities and HOME program administration. The City may choose to allocate less than the total allowable.

  It is strongly recommended that all applicants attend this workshop.  

The Application can be found below, in Section 7 of the Request for Proposal by each grant type. Instructions for completing the application can be found in Section 6. The City requires the body of the grant proposal be limited to no more than five pages, including the performance schedule and budget. Applicants may adjust the spacing as necessary to adequately describe their project, provided the application remains within the page limit. Attachments may be included with the proposal; however they should not be a continuation of the proposal narrative. Instead, they should be illustrative of a point made in the proposal, clearly marked as an attachment, and should not be cumbersome.
