Spin - Shared Micromobility
TO HAVE A DEVICE MOVED WITHIN 90 MINUTES THAT IS PARKED IMPROPERLY, EMAIL: AGGSUPPORT@SPIN.PM
The City of Davis and UC Davis are partners with Spin to provide a shared micromobility pilot program in the City and on campus starting in the fall of 2023. A soft launch will begin on September 8, 2023 with a low number of devices available spread between the City and UC Davis campus, to gradually increase to the full fleet of 400 e-bikes and 200 e-scooters by the end of September. The City's Public Works Engineering and Transportation department is overseeing this contract with Spin on behalf of the City.
Shared micromobility provides a flexible alternative for many individuals, students and families who need first- and last-mile connections to transportation, employment, classes, grocery stores and more. Micromobility also provides those without access to a vehicle to reach jobs, healthcare and other essential services. Likewise, these devices are a tool to help lower greenhouse gas emissions and create an environmentally sustainable transportation network in Davis, fitting within the goals of the City’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan.
Spin will be the micromobility provider for an initial three-year period, with the option of annual renewals after that upon mutual agreement between the three parties.
