On July 7, 2021, Ramco Enterprises and Buzz Oates Group of Companies, submitted a revised application for the project formerly known as DISC (for background on the original project, click Here). The revised project is called DiSC 2022. Staff is posting these submitted materials and is simultaneously reviewing them for accuracy and completeness. Below is a portion of the applicant's project description.
"DiSC 2022 continues to meet the objectives of the Innovation Park Task Force but achieves those goals with a more “Davis-scaled” project. The current proposal reduces the Original Project footprint from 194 to 102 acres, reduces the office, laboratory and advanced manufacturing space from 2.6 to 1.1 million square feet, and reduces the number of housing units from 850 to 460. The Applicants believe that the modified Project will serve the economic development and innovation needs of the City for the next decade, will do so in a manner that is responsive to community feedback, and reflects the realities of a post-COVID work environment."
This chart summarizes the differences between the Original DISC project and the DiSC 2022 project.

CEQA ADDENDUM
The City Council certified the EIR for the DISC project in the summer of 2020. It was not challenged in court, and therefore is an approved document. The proposed DiSC 2022 project has been evaluated against the findings of the previously certified EIR, concluding with the preparation of an Addendum to satisfy the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA.) An Addendum provides an explanation of why it is not necessary to prepare another Environmental Impact Report. The Addendum must be supported by substantial evidence justifying the decision of the lead agency.
An Addendum does not have a formal comment period, as the comment period already occurred as part of the SEIR process. However, the City of Davis has chosen to publicly post the Addendum prior to the public hearing. If anyone wishes to comment on the Addendum, they may make their comments as part of the public comment process associated with the Planning Commission and City Council public hearings. Please click here to see the Addendum. Click here to see the Mitigation Monitoring Program.
