"Measure H" Parcel Tax
The City’s Park Maintenance Tax (also referred to as “Measure H”) was renewed by Davis voters in 2018. The tax provides a stable source of local funding to offset a portion of the costs to maintain the community’s parks, street trees, greenbelts, bike paths, medians, public landscaping, urban wildlife and habitat, swimming pools, and public recreational facilities. The revenue is deposited into the parks maintenance budget and the urban forestry budget.
The tax is charged per parcel, has a 2% annual inflator, and is in effect until 2038. It is expected to generate over $1.5 million in fiscal year 2023-2024, although it accounts for less than 18% of the total costs of park maintenance throughout the city.
