THIS PROJECT IS COMPLETE!

The Central Park Universal Playground, located adjacent to the Hattie Weber Museum at 445 C Street, was constructed in 2014 and the poured-in-place rubber surfaces have worn down in the 10 years since it was put in. The rubber surfaces need to be replaced for safety purposes. The work entails removal and disposal of the rubber surfaces from two play areas, re-compaction and infill of subbase rock as needed, placement of the filter fabric, installation of the rubberized surface and inspection and maintenance the storm drainpipes and catch basins onsite.

The playground will be fenced off starting July 10 and will be unavailable for use during this work. As with most construction projects, there may be traffic, dust and noise impacts. The City is committed to minimizing impacts as much as possible. Construction crews will typically work daily, Monday-Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The project is anticipated to be completed by August 15, 2024. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we renovate the playground for many more years of play and fun for the community.
