Project Update September 30, 2024
Upcoming for the week of September 30: Continue and complete installation of new 6” sewer pipe in Jerome Street, connection of sewer laterals and backfilling of 6” pipe. Continue to install CIPP sewer lateral liners throughout town.
Project Update September 24, 2024
Work completed through September 20: Trenching and installation of new 8” sewer pipe in Jerome Street and connection to existing maintenance hole.
• Upcoming for the week of September 23: Trenching and installation of new 6” sewer pipe in Jerome Street, connection to existing maintenance hole and connection of sewer laterals.
• Work in October: Replacement of curb, gutter and sidewalk on Jerome; sewer lateral repairs at three locations in town; CIPP sewer lateral liner installations throughout town; abandonment of the sewer across Lake Terrace; patch paving of the sewer trenches on Jerome and Marina and striping.
• End of October: Demobilization and final cleanup.
Project Update August 26, 2024
The CIPP sewer liner part of this project has been rescheduled to after Labor Day because of equipment issues. A new schedule will be forthcoming soon.
Project Update July 31, 2024
Here is the current schedule for relocation of the sewer line. Construction schedules are subject to change because of weather, supply-chain issues or work required at other locations.
- Week of July 29: The contractor will dig and install a new maintenance hole at the intersection of Lake Boulevard and Marina Circle.
- Weeks of August 5 and 12: Trench and install new 8” sewer pipe in Marina Circle from Lake Boulevard to Jerome Street.
- Week of August 19: Dig and install a new maintenance hole at Marina Circle and Jerome Street intersection.
- Week of August 26 and into first week of September: Trench and install a new 8” pipe up Jerome Street (about 7 days of work).
- September: Additional work on Jerome to abandon the old sewer line crossing Lake Terrace and add liner coating to maintenance holes.
- End of September and into October: Patch paving of the trench only, repairing sidewalk and striping.
- October: Demobilization and final cleanup is expected mid-to-late October.

Week of July 22 Work
Portions of Whittier Dr into Manzanita Lane (from just before Buckeye Ln to just before Temple Dr) and J Street (5th St to just before Yale Dr) will be closed the week of July 22 for improvements to the sewer pipes.
Access will be maintained for residents. Recology pick-up will not be affected. Water use will not be affected. There will be some parking restrictions around the work zone. Questions? Contact communications@cityofdavis.org.
The main objective of this project is to abandon an existing sewer that runs underneath the Lake Terrace development. The work includes installation of a new sewer in Jerome Street and Marina Circle that will connect in Lake Boulevard. The old sewer through Lake Terrace will then be abandoned in place by filling it with concrete.
This work also includes installing cured-in-place liners in sewer laterals at 40 locations throughout town. These lateral locations have been identified with root intrusion, cracks or leaks and the liners will help eliminate these issues.
The project is scheduled to start June 14 and end November 8 of this year.
