Aspen Greenbelt/Covell Blvd Path Update 10/29/24
Phase 1 and 2 – Aspen Greenbelt Path below Bryce Lane and Saratoga Lane – ALMOST COMPLETE! The path in this section is open! Most of the work is complete except for some patch paving that will occur at a later date, closing the path again for a day or two. The City will update the public on patch paving dates. All entrance/exit ramps to this path section will be open by 10/30.
Phase 3 and 4 - Aspen Greenbelt Path including Bryce Lane/Saratoga Lane intersections and above to Glacier Drive crossing Olympic DriveThis path section is now closed for paving and concrete ramp construction at path entrances through approximately Nov. 18. After paving is complete in this phase, the path will be open for travel, but all path entrances/exits may not be open due to continuing concrete work. The City will update the public when the paving is complete and when the path entrances/exits are open.
Path users will need to detour to Denali Dr, Olympic Dr or to the Evergreen Greenbelt (parallel to El Capitan St).
Upcoming Work:
Phase 5 – Covell Blvd multi-use path from Shasta Drive to Denali Drive
Work will commence in mid-November for about two weeks for paving and concrete ramp construction at path entrances/exits through early December.
Phase 6 – Covell Blvd multi-use path from Denali Drive to just after UC Davis Medical Group business office at 2660 West Covell
Work will commence in early December for about two weeks for paving with concrete ramp construction at path entrances through mid-December.

The Aspen Greenbelt/ Covell Blvd path paving job has mobilized. Please see this tentative schedule, which is weather dependent. Portions of the greenbelt are closed as they are being paved, some path entrances are closed as concrete upgrades are installed, and path users will need to detour to Denali Dr, Olympic Dr or to the Evergreen Greenbelt (parallel to El Capitan St).

Paving on the Aspen Greenbelt multi-use path (including paving and concrete work at entrance points) from just north of Shasta Dr to Covell Blvd will begin on Monday, Sept. 30. The City contractor is working northward in phases. The northern limits of the first phase are approximately where Saratoga Place and Bryce Lane intersect the path. The path and path entrances south of this limit will be closed for work starting Monday.
Portions of the greenbelt will be closed as they are being paved, and path users will need to detour to Denali Dr, Olympic Dr or to the Evergreen Greenbelt (parallel to El Capitan St).
After the Aspen Greenbelt is finished, part of the Covell Blvd multi-use path will be paved from Shasta Dr to just past the UC Davis Clinic Medical Offices at 2440 W. Covell.
We apologize for the inconvenience of doing this work during the school year, but we will diligently work with the contractor to minimize any inconveniences.
Work hours are Mon-Fri, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please expect construction noise and dust. If you are in the immediate area of the work, you will see some “no parking” barriers 72 hours ahead of the project time. Door hangers will provide updates to nearby residents prior to each phase of the upcoming work.
